One-Eared Kitten Living In a Drain Befriends Hooman, Kitten is Recruited Into Her Furever Family 9 Weeks Later

The cat distribution system works in mysterious (yet necessary) ways. One moment, you're cleaning your front porch thinking nothing of it, simply gandering at the bright blue sky without a care in the world. The next, you're trying to befriend a one-eared kitten who has clearly taken a bit of a liking to you! When you're chosen by a purrfect kitten, you have no choice but to choose them back. We don't make the rules, the cat distribution system does. So, when you're blessed with the opportunity to be a cat pawrent to a fur baby in need, you jump on that opportunity and give it all you got!

In this heartwarming story, a hooman finds out that a kitten with one ear has been living in the drain in front of their house. Over a nine-week period, they befriend and gain the trust of this one-eared purry baby and show her what the good life looks like. Now, this cat "Wilbur" has a hooman baby friend, too!

    6 years ago a shy, skinny, one eared kitten was living in a drain out the front of my house. One day they came into my backyard so I started leaving food out. We named them Wilbur Wilde.

  • After 2 weeks they would eat with me present if I was sitting on the ground on the other side of the deck and didn't move.

  • After 5 weeks they would come close enough for me to give them a treat. After 6 weeks they poked their head inside the house for the first time.

  • After 7 weeks they finally let me pat/pet them and they realised how much they enjoyed them. Around week 8 we realised Wilbur was in fact a girl!

  • 6 years later she's still sleeping on our bed. She's still very shy and skittish around sudden movements, it took about 2 years for her to get used
